I don't think I've made it any secret that I think MiT is a brilliant shop and I'm glad to say Alex, the owner and I have become friends but even on my first visit I was amazed by the shop.

Alex himself is a fountain of knowledge of the products he sells...and not just Star Wars either.

As the spiel says, MiT is a family run business and nothing proves that more than the involvement of Alex's father George, a friendly and very funny man who loves to have a joke around.

Yes, I'm sure there are other Collectables stores out there but I'm happy to say that MiT was the first one I discovered and all on the recommendation of a friend from work.

Jim Walton just happened to mention that he was over there with his girlfriend Toni and Toni's nephew Anthony and said I would love it...funny thing was, I didn't know how much until I walked in...boy, was I in geek heaven or what !

So, I owe a BIG thanks to Jim (although the CC wouldn't thank him).

Like I said, Alex is very knowledgeable about his products but he is also great in the Customer Service department and that is what you want when you go into a store. You certainly don't want some bored student serving you who's only there to `up` their grant for beer money and believe me, there are quite a few out there who do that and are bored (I know, I work with some of them) but you won't find that at MiT.

There is a large choice of products and growing all the time...I highly recommend MiT and if you visit them or buy online from them I know you will to.

it is a great shop. i happened upon it by chance on the opening day, i've been in several times and always end up chatting to the owner for a good while. i actually owe him an apology as i was meant to go buy something last weekend but events have conspired to make sure i can't get it till next month. (car tax, girlfriends birthday, etc)

But i agree with palpy, it has so much to offer and luckily for me its only about ten minutes away, i hope he gets the website working soon for those of you abroad.

Yeah, the designer is working full throttle to get it online...and then the whole galaxy will be in Alex' MiTs...

i remeber when it was a small shop in the indoor market(the one opposite wilkinsons) i used to go ages ago 2 get star wars, alien and predator figures. then it grew to two joined small shops until what it is today. i love the place, and id highly recommend it to anyone who likes star wars and many other things. Its easily my favourite shop.

I found this site the other way around. It was Alex at MiT that told me about this, It's a great shop and really friendly, will very well priced stock. I can't tell you pleased I am to find a shop like that where the prices aren't in US dollars and a site like this where the members seem very genuine people. This is the first such forum site I've joined and I'm having a ball. All thanks to Alex at MiT.

Alex keeps trying to make me spend money. i went down for a look the other day and spent over two hours in there trying to resist the urge to spend money i don't have.

And jamy, i'm also from whitley bay, i remember that stall in the indoor market, thats where i got a few of my originals from, like my AT-AT and my snowspeeder.
