Judging by a lot of the pasting this movie is getting by professional critics I'm puzzled...puzzled by what they actually expected from this.
I expected an animated version of Star Wars...

I must say I enjoyed this movie, not because I'm a Lucas disciple or a rabid devourer of all-things-star-wars...far from it, I personally think a lot of the Expanded Universe in novel form should be sent to the spice mines of Kessel or smashed into who knows what.
No, I enjoyed this movie because it is fun, just like Star Wars has always been.

The battle scenes were crafted well, the voice actors superb, especially the inspired voice of
Ziro the Hutt, reminding me of
Truman Capote.
The `make-up` on the Hutt didn't make me think `gay`, though some might, how little we have moved on in 40 years...the `make-up` suggested to me flamboyance...how else could a Hutt stand out in the mecca that is Coruscant?
The movie was a lot of fun AND a GREAT introduction to the forthcoming TV series, which will maintain the standard set here.
