I have to admit it
I'm old!
Why do I have to admit it?
Simple really, I remember the original Star Wars Blueprints released in the late Seventies. In fact I don't just remember them, I owned them...notice I say
owned, alas I do no more....which is why I was delighted to hear
DK were releasing an Ultimate Star Wars Blueprints collection.
Star Wars Ultimate Blueprints, text by
Ryder Windham, Illustrations by
Chris Trevas and
Chris Reiff, published by
DK brings a more robust collection than the previous flimsy paper from the earlier release and there's a lot more detail now, obviously helped along by the recent Prequels and various Expanded Universe stories.

The poster sized plans are a delight to peruse, my particular favourite being Darth Vader, the illustration bringing to life the hardships endured by the fictitious sith lord. Like previous book in this vein, (Incredible Cross-Sections etc) its the little details that delighted this particular old geek and younger readers will find even more to love. All in all, a great book which I highly recommend the he Star Wars geek in all of us, no matter what age. To paraphrase General Grevious, it makes a fine addition to my collection and the 8/10 Death Stars Rating is more out of disappointment that there were not more to look at...a sequel perhaps?
Well done
