Does anyone know any more about the live action TV series other than:
Work on a live-action “Star Wars” TV series will begin next year(2007). The series will not focus on the Skywalkers but instead will follow minor characters. ?
I haven't kept up with any of the SW magazines or net news.

Anyway, I've read some news on the two TV series, not a lot. Boba Fett's probably going to be a character, and the live-action series is supposed to be premiering in 2008, with the new Clone Wars series sometime towards the end of 2007.

There was an interesting interview in Time magazine with Lucas last year, where he talked a bit about the tv series and his plans post-Star Wars. The interesting thing was that Lucas said the Star Wars television show was going to be in 3D, with glasses and everything. At first I thought he meant the Clone Wars series, but now I think he meant the live-action one... maybe it's the only way to do the special effects without spending an absolute fortune on each episode?

Also, the 30-min Clone Wars series is going to be CGI. It's supposed to be set between Episodes II and III, once Anakin is a Knight but before the Battle of Coruscant. It looks interesting, and Frank Oz is rumoured to be doing the voice of Yoda.

Thanks Christopher. I have been waiting for more information on the live action, ie actors, locations and rough storylines. I guess they can't really give too much information away just yet.

So when is the TV series supposted to come out?

The thing that interests me is if the rest of the world will get it at the same time as the US. I hope so; it'll be a nightmare avoiding spoilers if we don't get it until February/March in Aus. We've been getting Jericho at the same time as the US, though, so maybe there's hope...

Man, it sounds like a mess, and they can't decide what they want to do.

I'll be really PO'd if George does make the live action series 3D where you need the stupid glasses to see it. Since I have no sight in one eye, those don't work for me.

I have enough astigmatism that I find them merely annoying.
But, either way, that idea is REALLY STUPID. GL should know better, but then, there were some things in Ep. III I thought he shouldn't have done, as well. Shows what I know.

I think the idea of a 3D action movie is a cool idea.

Seriously, though, I'm not sure really what being a "geek" is anymore. I like Star Wars and science fiction; I'm into technology, understand some computer terminology; I run a few blogs and websites. Geek seems a more affectionate term now than it used to, which is good.

I agree with you all the way. The only thing i don;t get is the difference between a nerd and a geek.

Getting back on topic though, I think they may be talking about the animated one being 3D, but not glasses-like 3D but just CGI sort of 3D (if you get what I'm trying to say)

I discovered this site just before it went, didn't get time to get myself involved much.

Have I got news for you then. The Live TV Series will be based on the books and novels but more so Concentrateing on Cade Skywalker, Luke Skywalkers Grandson, but even though he Lukes Grandson, he left the Jedi Temple while he but a child following his fathers death. Also the sith lord Darth Krayt will be in the series.

From different star wars based websites, but I meant to say that theres a chance that the shows going to be based on the info. I can't wait until it gets on TV 'cause theres nothing good on at the moment. Please don't tell me that peoples been making this onfo up, 'cause if they have then I'm going to be really angry.

Well, apparently, the TV series is set between Episode III and IV so it can't include the `Legacy` storyline which is set quite a bit after Episode VI
